The Wild Atlantic Way is the world’s longest coastal touring route, running from the Inishowen Peninsula in County Donegal to Kinsale in County Cork. Scattered along these 2,500 kilometres of rugged coastline are hidden secrets, Discovery Points and Signature Discovery Points – which are the highlights of each area. The first Signature Discovery Point is Malin Head, Ireland’s most northerly point, at the very tip of the Inishowen Peninsula. Up here you get breathtaking views back across the coastline, out to the lighthouse on Inishtrahull Island and over a huge, wide expanse of the Atlantic Ocean.
Here at Cycle Inishowen we believe that to really experience this amazing area you have to get out from behind that car window and cycle there! We have put together our own ‘wild’ experience for you; guided tours from Carndonagh. The route follows the Wild Atlantic Way along the coast up to Malin Head, with stops along the way to hear some stories and admire the amazing views. Lunch is included in the wonderful Seaview Tavern before either returning to Carndonagh or following the Way further along to Culdaff Beach for a transfer back to the start again.
