Just back into the real world now after a hectic couple of weeks working on our entry to Ireland’s Best Young Entrepreneur. Cycle Inishowen was in the Start-Up Category, for businesses operating less than 18 months.

It was amazing to be selected for the business bootcamp in the Donegal Local Enterprise Offices, and very inspiring to work with the enthusiastic Gerry Moan. The competition involved a lot of hard work with some great people through August, and preparing a business plan for growth over the next three years. Finally, a pitch had to be made to a panel of five judges who were selecting a winner for each of the three categories and one overall winner for the county.

The winners were announced at the start of September at a gala dinner event in the Silver Tassie Hotel, and great big cheques were handed out to the lucky winners! Cycle Inishowen weren’t lucky enough to receive one but huge congratulations are due to those who did; Ellevyn Irwin with her new business idea, Pete Friel from Chartered Education and Christy Lynch from Efficient Renewables Limited.

The search is on!
