Cycle Inishowen was founded by Blaise Harvey, a native of Inishowen, and Michael Ogden, an émigré and former bicycle courier from England, in early 2012. We have organised our own tours of England, Scotland and Wales, Ireland, Denmark, Germany, Spain, Italy and Tasmania. We decided during a tour from Ballycastle on the Antrim coast to Connemara, passing through Inishowen, that this was one of the finest places we have cycled. The area is already well known and loved amongst the cycling community and there are a number of cycling clubs here. Our aim here at Cycle Inishowen is to make the area accessible to leisure cyclists. While cycling holidays are very popular in other parts of Ireland we were surprised to find that there was little or no provision here for such tourism and set about founding Cycle Inishowen in response. We were helped in this regard by funding from the National Rural Development Programme who shared our vision. We are passionate about our little part of Ireland and want to share it with a larger audience. We also strongly believe in the merits of cycling as a healthy outdoor activity, it is environmentally friendly and is a great way of experiencing Inishowen. Between us we have all the relevant skills and experience to make sure you get the most out of your holiday or bike hire. We are both trained in cycling proficiency and first aid, Michael is a fully qualified bike mechanic and we have personally cycled extensively in Inishowen. We hope that you can join us soon as it would be our pleasure to welcome you.
